SPRINGTIME STUDY CONCERTS | University of Tor Vergata
The Master’s Program in Sonic Arts presents the eighth edition of the electroacoustic music concert series "Springtime Study Concerts", consisting this year of four events. These are part of the courses “History, Analysis and Composition of Electroacoustic Music” (Master in Sonic Arts), “Electronic Music” (Faculty of Humanities), and “Circuit Technologies for Sound” (Faculty of Engineering) at the University of Tor Vergata.
Each event is dedicated to a significant theme within the field of contemporary electroacoustic music and includes, in addition to the concert itself, talks and discussions aimed at deepening and expanding historical-analytical, technical, and artistic aspects related to the musical practices involved—both compositional and performative.
The main goals of the Springtime Study Concerts are twofold:
First, to enrich the academic experience by encouraging active student participation in international-level musical events, where the technical and artistic subjects addressed in the classroom are explored in a dynamic and stimulating context.
Second, to engage students and faculty from related disciplines—as well as anyone interested—in discovering contemporary art music that is typically absent from mainstream concert programs and major media channels.
This series aims to introduce electroacoustic music listening in a clear and accessible way, without taking anything for granted—yet without compromising on the depth and complexity of the themes explored in each event.
